Renee Kudzia became head women's basketball coach at Owens Community College in 1992-93. In her first year, she coached four true freshmen, a sophomore transfer and five players that had been out of high school for 1-3 years.

In 1992-93, Kudzia led the Express to a share of the regular season OCCAC championship before losing to Sinclair CC in the OCCAC tournament finals.

Kudzia helped re-start a women's basketball program that had been dormant since 1981-82.
