Owens career: In 2000-01, she averaged 1.5 points and snared 29 rebounds in 17 games. Strube was also named Academic All-OCCAC.

High School: Jefferson High School graduate, Monroe, Michigan, where she averaged 12.2 points and grabbed 10.1 rebounds per game as a senior. Her basketball honors included two-time First Team All-Huron League and First Team All-Region selections. A team captain in basketball, she was recognized as the Player of the Year by the Monroe Guardian newspaper. She also earned three varsity letters in volleyball.
