Title: Head Women's Basketball Coach

Michael Llanas begins his fifth season as Head Coach of the Owens women's basketball program after guiding the Express to a 23-10 overall record and an OCCAC second-place finish last year.  He holds and 80-47 overall record during the tenure at Owens and was named the conference's Co-Coach of the Year during the 2006-07 season.  Llanas joined the College in 2004 with more than 21 years of coaching experience at various levels.  Since 1997, he has served as Head AAU Basketball Coach for Team Sports Rockers Basketball/Team Ohio.  Five years ago, he led Team Ohio to the AAU Junior Olympic Games, reaching the Sweet 16 and compiling a 4-4 overall record.  In 2003, Llanas served as an Assistant Coach for Team Ohio at the AAU Junior Olympics.  Prior to Team Sports Rockers Basketball/Team Ohio, he was the Varsity Girl's Head Basketball Coach at Elmwood High School from 1995-97.  Llanas previously has held Varsity Assistant coaching positions at Elmwood and Gibsonburg high schools.

His accomplishments include being chosen as Head Coach for the Wood County Cage Classic and Fostoria Boosters/Time Warner Cablevision all-star basketball games in 1997.  Llanas holds certification as an On Scene Incident Commander from the University of Findlay and International Organization of Standardization Training fro the Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center.  The Toledo resident is employed as a Sales Representative with Info Trak Incorporated and is a certified Audiologist Aide at the Toledo Speech and Hearing Center.
