Women's Basketball Falls in Turkey Trot Opener

Toledo, OH - The 10th ranked Owens Express women's basketball team failed to find their stride in the second half, falling to No. 6 Kalamazoo Valley Community College, 82-65 on Friday afternoon in the opener of the Owens Community College Turkey Trot at the SHAC.

Aja Hall (Fostoria/Fostoria, Ohio) led Owens with 22 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. She now has 631 career points. Emma-Jean Ricketts (Anthony Wayne/Waterville, Ohio) added 13 points, while Uniqua Mitchell (Martin Luther King/Detroit, Mich.) had 11 points.

Kieona Foster (Shawnee/Lima, Ohio) added three points, seven assists and five steals.

Jennifer Lofts led KVCC with 24 points, six rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Kendra Cook added 13, while Megan Holland had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Owens (5-2) will take on Schoolcraft College tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the SHAC.
