Foster's Near Triple-Double Leads Express Past Glen Oaks

Centreville, MI---The No. 12-ranked Owens Express women's basketball team routed Glen Oaks C.C. 90-30 on the road today behind Aja Hall (Fostoria/Fostoria, Ohio), Kieona Foster (Shawnee/Lima, Ohio) and Hailey Galvan (Archbold/Archbold, Ohio).

Hall led the Express in scoring with 20 points, while adding five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Foster came just three assists short of a triple-double as she produced 12 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block. Meanwhile, Galvan tied her own national record for most blocks in a game with 12, while also producing eight points and four rebounds.

Through the season's first 10 games (1/3 of the regular season), Galvan is halfway to the single season block record for Owens. Additionally, Hall now has 681 career points. She passed Becky Knannlein (668 points) for 18th place on the career scoring list.

Glen Oaks scored the game's first points to go up 2-0. Owens then went on a 21-0 run until Glen Oaks scored at the 12:33 mark of the first half, held a 39-5 lead until Glen Oaks hit a three pointer at the 4:21 mark, and finished the half up 49-12. 

Mackenzie Heacock (Arlington/Arlington, Ohio) had 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Emma-Jean Ricketts (Anthony Wayne/Waterville, Ohio) had 12 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Karahn Scott (Scott/Toledo, Ohio) had seven points, eight rebounds and one steal in 14 minutes of action.

The Express shot 37-for-69 (53.6%) overall from the field, 2-for-9 (22.2%) from three point range, and 14-for-25 (56%) from the foul line. Meanwhile, Glen Oaks shot 12-for-68 (17.6%) overall, 4-for-25 (16%) from three point range, and 2-for-6 (33.3%) from the foul line. The Express outrebounded Glen Oaks 54 to 36, had more assists (26 to 6), less turnovers (14 to 24), more blocks (13 to 4) and more steals (17 to 6).

The Express are now 8-2 this year. They will next play on the road against Schoolcraft College on Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
