Hall Moves Into Top Five In Career Scoring As No. 7 Express Women Down Tri-C 57-41

---The No. 7 Express women's basketball defeated Cuyahoga Community College 57-41 on the road Wednesday night behind Aja Hall's 22 point, eight rebound game.

Hall now has 923 career points. With tonight's game, she moved past Stacy Weiland (2002-04, 908 points) and Elizabeth Harris (1996-98, 919 points) on the career scoring list and into fourth place. Leslie Mugg (1993-95) is next with 942 points. Hall is attempting to become only the second Express women's basketball player with 1,000 career points.

After a sluggish first half for both teams that saw Owens take an 18-14 lead into the half, the Express took command in the second half to improve to 22-4 overall and 7-1 in the OCCAC.

Uniqua Mitchell
added 14 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals for the Express, who only had two players in double figures.

The Express did have a balanced effort on the boards, however, as five players had at least eight rebounds. Kieona Foster had a team-high nine rebounds to go along with her two points, seven assists, three blocks and three steals. Karahn Scott also had nine rebounds to go along with five points.

Emma-Jean Ricketts
added six points, eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal, while Hailey Galvan inched closer to the school's single season block record as she finished with eight rebounds and nine blocks.

Galvan now has 118 blocks in 21 games played. She is 10 blocks short of breaking the program's single season record for most blocks held by Brittany Darling. Additionally, her career block total is now 220, and she is 28 shy of breaking that.

Anastasia Smith led Cuyahoga with 12 points. She was their only player in double figures. Brittany Flannigan had 10 rebounds, however. Tri-C falls to 7-12 overall and 1-6 in the OCCAC.

Owens shot 17-for-52 overall, 3-for-14 from three point range and 20-for-24 from the foul line. Meanwhile, Cuyahoga shot 13-for-80 overall, 4-for-19 from three point range and 11-for-19 from the foul line. The Express outrebounded Cuyahoga 15-9, while also outproducing them in assists (24-15), blocks (19-4), points in the paint (20-12) and points off turnovers (12-10).

The Express moved up two spots to No. 7 in the NJCAA D-II poll prior to today's game. Their next action is this Saturday at 1 p.m. in the SHAC against Sinclair Community College.
