Toledo, OH---Aja Hall, a sophomore on the Express women's basketball team, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 5.

On Feb. 1, Hall poured in 21 points, while adding five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes against Edison State. Then, on Feb. 4 at Columbus State, the Fostoria HS product had 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals in 26 minutes.

In those two games, Hall combined for 44 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and four steals in 58 minutes of action. She went 14-for-32 overall from the field and 5-for-9 from three point range.

In the game against Columbus State, Hall became only the sixth Express women's basketball player with 900 career points.

Hall opened the week with 17 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and one assist in a non-conference game against Ohio Northern's JV team on Jan. 30.

"Aja is determined to propel Owens," said Express head women's basketball coach Michael Llanas. "Her three point shooting was impressive as she typically shoots 31 percent for the year. Furthermore, she continues to creep up in the scoring column of the Owens history books and will end her career as one of the most prolific scorers in program history."

For the season, Hall is averaging 18.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals in 25 games played. She is shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from three point range. Additionally, she is currently in third place on the career scoring list with 944 career points. With 56 more points, she will become only the second women's basketball player with 1,000 career points at Owens.
