Pontiac Duo Inks With Express Women's Basketball

Pontiac, MI---Pontiac High School standouts Meshia Smith and Breonna House have signed to play for the Express women's basketball team next year.

A signing ceremony took place at Pontiac High School recently.

Smith is a 5-11 forward/center who earned 13 varsity letters as a four-year varsity player in basketball, volleyball and softball. She earned All-Oakland Activities Association honors in all three sports and was named team MVP in all three sports at various times. She will play the forward position with the Express.

"Meshia brings power, rebounding and finesse to our team," said Express women's basketball head coach Michael Llanas.

House is a 5-6 guard who was a team captain at Pontiac. Her honors include being named the MVP in the AAU D-II state championship game where she scored 28 points, a two-time MVP in the Roundball Classic, and MVP of the MLK Classic Showcase in Pontiac, MI. Additionally, she earned All-Oakland Activities Association honors. She will play the off guard position for the Express.

"Breonna will bring us defensive intensity that will allow us to extend our defense," Llanas said.

The two players will join Kamilah Carter, a 5-4 point guard from Ann Arbor Pioneer HS, Nandi Taylor, a 5-4 point guard from Flint Hamady HS, Jordyn Bond, a 5-7 guard/forward from Romulus HS, Taylor Marks, a 5-8 guard/forward from Flint Beecher HS, Eboni Adams, a 5-7 point guard from Cleveland Maple Heights HS, and Malaysha Cammon, a 6-5 center from Dearborn Divine Child HS.
