House, Ricketts Pour In 35 Off Bench To Help Express Women Defeat Mid-Michigan 88-48

Mt. Pleasant, MI---Breonna House scored a team-high 18 points off the bench to help the Express women's basketball team to an 88-48 win over Mid-Michigan Community College tonight.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Express.

House went 8-for-16 from the field and 2-for-4 from the foul line, while adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Meanwhile, Emma-Jean Ricketts didn't see the court until five minutes were left in the first half, but she finished with 17 points and four rebounds. She finished 7-for-10 from the field, 1-for-1 from 3-point range and 2-for-4 from the foul line.

The Express trailed 15-8 with 12:26 left in the first half, but went on a 15-0 run to take a 23-15 lead with 8:12 left. They led 36-26 at halftime.

The second half belonged to the Express as they outscored Mid-Michigan 52-22. In that half alone, the Express shot 23-for-47 (48.9 percent) while forcing 13 Mid-Michigan turnovers.

Nandi Taylor added 10 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals, while Meshia Smith had nine points and seven rebounds. Danielle Bezeau also chipped in seven points, three rebounds and three steals.

Mid-Michigan was led by Kayla Caudill, who had 10 points.

The Express (4-2) will have tomorrow off before traveling to Vincennes, IN for the Sodexo Classic. They will take on Mineral Area College on Friday at 5 p.m. before facing Vincennes University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
