Dayton, Ohio---Zhana Randolph (Rochester/Rochester Hills, Mich.) led seven players in double figures as the No. 5 Express women's basketball team closed the regular season in record setting fashion with a 111-66 win over Sinclair Community College.

The Express jumped on Sinclair early, draining their first four field goals, all from 3-point range. Randolph had two of them, while Paige Wright (Northrop/Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Kamilah Carter (Pioneer/Ann Arbor, Mich.) had the others. When the dust settled, the Express had a 14-0 lead with 17:31 left in the half.

A little later, another 3-pointer from Eboni Adams (Maple Heights/Cleveland, Ohio) gave the Express a 20-3 lead with 15:31 left. With 13:37 left, LaKayra Carlisle's (Pershing/Detroit, Mich.) lay-up pushed the lead to 20 at 26-6. 

The Express would lead by as many as 23 in the half before taking a 60-39 lead into the break. Sinclair's Osha Owens hit a jumper just before the buzzer sounded.

Carter opened the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers, before Adams hit a lay-up to give the Express a 68-39 lead with 17:42 remaining.

The Express later led by as many as 47 at two different points down the stretch before settling on a 45-point winning margin.

While Randolph finished with a season-high 18 points on 7-for-10 (4-for-6 3-point range) shooting, along with four assists, six others hit double figures in scoring.

Ashley Tunstall (Huber Heights Wayne/Dayton, Ohio) picked up her fifth straight double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. She finished 5-for-8 from the field and a team best 6-for-8 from the foul line.

Aside from Tunstall, another freshman post player, Maura Hackney (Edgewood/Middletown, Ohio) picked up a season-high in scoring with 14 points, along with nine rebounds and two assists.

Other hitting double figures were: Carter (17), Wright (12), Adams (10) and Imani Vickers (Mansfield Senior/Mansfield, Ohio) with 11. Wright added a team-high 10 assists.

Malaysha Cammon (Divine Child/Dearborn, Mich.) led the Express with two blocks.

From the field, the Express broke the program's single game field goal percentage record as they finished 45-for-71 (63.4 percent) overall and 12-for-18 (66.7 percent) from 3-point range. Their 3-point field goal percentage tied the program's single game team mark. The Express added nine points on 16 attempts from the foul line.

On the flip side, Sinclair struggled from 3-point range as they finished 1-for-19 from long distance.

Despite committing six more turnovers than Sinclair, the Express held a 58-36 advantage in paint points due to a 52-37 advantage in rebounding.

The Express close the regular season 25-2 overall and 11-1 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC). They already clinched an OCCAC title for the second consecutive season and the third time in the past four seasons. They also picked up their fifth straight 25 win season, which is one more than the four total in previous seasons of program history.

The Express will open up district tournament play next Friday against the winner of Sinclair Community College and Edison Community College at 1 p.m. All tournament games will be held at Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio.

Carter's 17 points gives her 526 points this year, which is now tied for the seventh highest single season total in program history. She passed Jasmine Blanton (520 pts, 2009-10) and Stacey Weiland (524 points, 2002-03) and tied Dawn Spencer's 1996-97 total today.

Notes

Wright's 10 assists marked the third time this year she has reached double figures in that category. 

Randolph's previous season-high also came against Sinclair (13 pts) on Feb. 8. Today was her seventh double figure game of the season.

Hackney's game today was her second in which she scored in double figures this year. It was her first since Nov. 30 against Kalamazoo Valley (11 pts).

The previous program record for field goal percentage was 59.7 percent against Lakeland Community College on Jan. 23 of last season.

The Express had 33 assists, which was two shy of the single game record.
