Lima, Ohio---Eboni Adams (Maple Heights/Cleveland, Ohio), who improved her scoring average over nine points a game last year, has signed with the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) women's basketball program.

Adams, who was second on the team in scoring last year for Owens, improved her scoring average from 3.2 per game her freshman year to 12.3 last year. She also finished 11th in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) in scoring. For her efforts, she earned Second Team OCCAC honors and was the recipient of the team's Coaches Award.

Overall, in addition to her scoring, Adams added 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She notched double-figures in scoring in 20 of 29 games.

Adams and the Owens women's basketball team were ranked as high as No. 4 in the country this past year while winning the program's second straight outright OCCAC championship. They tied a program record with 18 straight wins and advanced to the Region XII District I championship game before finishing 26-3.

In her two-year career, Adams netted 463 points, which puts her in the top 50 in career scoring.

As a freshman, Adams was named OCCAC Player of the Week on Jan. 13 in addition to averaging 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She helped lead the team to a Region XII District I championship and a fifth place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, as well.

A 5'7" guard out of Cleveland Maple Heights, Adams was a three-time All-Lake Erie League selection in high school.

UNOH, which competes at the NAIA level, finished 17-14 overall last year under the direction of head coach Kyle Menchofer. Their season ended with a loss in the first round of the WHAC tournament.

Notes

With UNOH's signing of Adams, all three sophomore starting guards from last year's team have signed with four-year schools. Kamilah Carter (Pioneer/Ann Arbor, Mich.), who led the team in scoring at 19.3 per game, signed with NCAA Division I IPFW, while Paige Wright (Northrop/Fort Wayne, Ind.), who was fourth on the team in scoring at 10.2 per game, signed with NCAA Division II California University of Pennsylvania. Wright was second on the team in rebounding and led the team in assists, as well.
