2016-17: Bethea was one of the nation's top defenders as a sophomore while being a vastly improved offensive threat. She finished second on the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game, along with 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. Her 4.7 steals per game was the best in the nation at the NJCAA Division II level.

During the season, Bethea had 17 games with at least five steals while breaking the program's single season and career steal records. She finished her career with 691 points (21st on the career scoring list), 225 rebounds, 178 assists, 247 steals and 54 blocks. As a sophomore, her program record steal total was 150, which broke the previous mark by 47.

As a sophomore, Bethea scored in double figures in 26 of 32 games, including a season-high 28 on Jan. 14 against Columbus State. She had a season-high in rebounds (9) on Dec. 20 against Kellogg, in assists (7) vs Hocking on Jan. 7 and in steals (9) on Jan. 7 vs Hocking. She also had a season-high of four blocks twice. And she did all that without playing more than 29 minutes in any game.

Bethea also led the conference and nation in steals despite averaging just 21.6 minutes per game. In conference play, she averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 steals, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 2.6 assists. She shot 90-for-195 (46.2 percent) from the field and 27-for-35 (77.1 percent) from the foul line. Additionally, she finished ninth in the conference in scoring, had at least six steals in 10 of 16 conference games and at least five steals in 12 of those games.

In conference play, Bethea finished ninth in scoring (13.6 PPG), 12th in FG percentage (46.2), 12th in assists (2.6/game), first in steals (5.3/game) and fifth in blocks (1.4/game). She was named the OCCAC player of the week on Dec. 4 and Jan. 1.

2015-16: Bethea provided a solid all-around presence during her freshman year at Owens despite missing 11 games in the middle of the season due to injury. In 25 games, she averaged 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 3.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. She totaled 268 points, 91 rebounds, 86 assists, 97 steals and 17 blocks, and she would have broken the program's single season steals record if not for the injury.

In Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) play, Bethea averaged 12 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, four steals and one block per game despite playing just 20 minutes per game.

Overall, Bethea produced double digits in the scoring column 14 times, including a season-high 18 points on Dec. 5 against Schoolcraft College and March 19 vs Cape Fear Community College. She had a season-high eight rebounds on March 5 vs Cincinnati State and a season-high eight assists vs Oakland on Nov. 7. She also had at least two steals in every game she played except four, while recording a season-high nine on Oct. 31 vs Roane State.

In the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, Bethea averaged 11.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 4.5 steals per game.

Prior to Owens: As a senior, Bethea averaged 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 1.5 assists per game while leading Huron to a 22-2 record, a Southeastern Conference (SEC) Red championship and a berth in the regional finals. While shooting 46.9 percent from the field and often playing just one half, she was the best defensive player on a team that held opponents to fewer than 30 points per game with a 27.8 average margin of victory.

Following the season, she was named First Team All-SEC Red, Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) All-Michigan and Associated Press (AP) Class A Special Mention All-Michigan. She was also named to the Ann Arbor News and Washtenaw County Dream Teams. Furthermore, she was named the No. 10 player on the Detroit Free Press Top 100 players list by Mick McCabe.

As a junior, Bethea averaged 10.3 points, 3.5 steals, three rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field. She led her team to SEC Red and district championships and was named First Team All-SEC Red, BCAM Class A Honorable Mention All-Michigan and AP Class A Honorable Mention All-Michigan. She also earned a spot on the Washtenaw County Dream Team.

As a sophomore, the four-year varsity player led Huron to an SEC Red championship and a district runner-up finish. She was named BCAM Class A All-Michigan and was a member of the Washtenaw County Dream Team.

Bethea helped lead her team to a SEC Red championship and a state semifinal appearance as a freshman. In a 47-44 semifinal loss to Grosse Point South, she had 11 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Outside of Huron, Bethea played AAU basketball for the Michigan Sting Elite, where she led her team to numerous tourney wins, including four state championships.

Personal: Ariel is the daughter of Anthony Logwood and Pam Wilson. She has one sister, Adazia. Her cousin, Tamera Young, plays in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky.
