Roseboro Signs With IU East Women's Basketball Program

Toledo, Ohio---Sybil Roseboro (Elyria/Elyria, Ohio), a sophomore guard from the Owens Community College women's basketball team, will continue her playing career at Indiana University East beginning this fall.

"Sybil is a very hard worker and fits into our system perfectly," said IU East head women's basketball coach Tiffani Selhorst via IUredwolves.com. "With her maturity, we know that she will help take us to the next level without missing a beat."

Roseboro averaged 8.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game over 31 games (28 starts) as a sophomore. She scored in double figures 10 times, including a season-high 18 points on Jan. 7 against Hocking and Feb. 8 against Lorain County. Defensively, she had 15 games with at least two steals, including a season-high four on March 4 in a win over Cincinnati State that helped the team clinch a 30-0 regular season.

In conference play, Roseboro averaged 9.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Roseboro totaled 393 points in her career, along with 225 rebounds, 145 assists, 68 steals and four blocks in 53 career games with averages of 7.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Academically, Roseboro closed her career with a 3.40 GPA in her final semester to earn OCCAC All-Academic team recognition.

IU East is an NAIA Division II program. The Red Wolves went 29-6, won the River States Conference East Division and tournament titles, and reached the Sweet 16 at the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in 2016-17.

Notes

Roseboro is the second Owens women's basketball sophomore from last year's team to sign with a four-year school. She joins Jeryn Reese (Mansfield/Mansfield, Ohio), who will play at NCAA Division I LaSalle University.

Roseboro helped lead Owens to a 31-1 record in 2016-17, which included the college's first perfect regular season at 30-0. The team captured its fifth straight Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) championship with a 16-0 record before advancing to the Region XII District I championship game.
