Lauren Crockett spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Owens women’s basketball program from 2013-15.

In 2014-15, Crockett helped lead the Owens women's basketball team to its best season in program history. They finished 34-2 overall and 14-0 in OCCAC play, while capturing a college record 33 straight wins, the program's first undefeated conference season, its third straight OCCAC title, its second Region XII District I championship in three years and a third place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

In 2013-14, Crockett helped Owens capture 18 straight wins en route to a 26-3 season overall. The team won the second straight conference championship and their third over the past four years. They advanced to the Region XII District I championship game before falling to Cincinnati State.

Prior to Owens, Crockett coached the Elite Vipers AAU girls basketball team in Rossford, OH in the summer of 2013, where she helped coach and direct players for a summer showcase. Prior to that, she was an assistant varsity coach, as well as the head JV coach, at Northwood High School in Northwood, OH. During her time there, she was responsible for coaching practice, shooting and dribbling drills, as well as handling offensive players, defensive options and game preparation. She also managed travel and food arrangements.

Prior to beginning her coaching career, the Toledo, OH native was a four-year member of the Siena Heights University women’s basketball team from 2006-10. While there, she averaged 12 points per game and earned a place in the Wolverine-Hooser Athletic Conference (WHAC) Champions of Character in 2009. She has the ninth best free throw percentage in a single season, is third in single season assists and fifth in career assists.

Crockett played one season for the Flint Monarchs semi-professional basketball team in Flint, MI just after completing her college career.

Prior to college, Crockett prepped at Bowsher High School in Toledo, OH, where she averaged 9.7 points per game from 2002-06. 

Academically, Crockett holds a bachelor of arts in sport management and a master’s in organizational leadership from Siena Heights University.
