National Champtionship Head Coach

Stephen Perry, who was named the head coach of the Owens women's basketball coach on June 11, 2018, enters his 16th overall season on the coaching staff.

In his career, he has helped the program compiled a 330-89 (.788) record enter the 2021-22 season, including a 35-23 (.603) performance as head coach. In conference play, he is 147-24 (.860), including a 20-5 record as head coach.

Prior to having last season canceled due to Covid-19, Perry led a revamped roster to wins in 10 of its final 16 contests and a Region XII championship game appearance in 2019-20.

In his first season as head coach, Perry led the program to NJCAA Division III national runner-up finish, leading the Express to a 25-9 record and a 14-2 finish in conference play, which earned the team a share of its seventh-straight OCCAC championship. It also represented the first time a Division III team won the league title while Taylor Works (1st Team), Moreina Moore (2nd Team) and Shyah Wheeler (Honorable Mention) were all named NJCAA All-Americans.

Perry joined Owens with nine years of basketball coaching experience, with the final eight of those at St. Ursula Academy in Toledo, OH. During his time there, Perry served as St. Ursula Academy's freshman and JV girls head basketball coach. His teams amassed an overall record of 127-29, won two City League championships and finished City League runner-up three times.

Perry is a graduate of Toledo St. John's Jesuit High School and went on to play intercollegiate basketball at Tiffin University. He is an Account Executive for USF Holland in Bowling Green. He and his, wife, Susan, reside in Toledo and have two daughters, Madeline and Lauren.
