North East, PA.---The Owens Express women's soccer team defeated Mercyhurst North East College 5-0 on Saturday behind two goals each from Alyvia Lieber (Maumee/Maumee, Ohio) and Marissa Szabo (Southview/Sylvania, Ohio).

Kendra Eitniear (Swanton/Swanton, Ohio) scored the other goal for Owens. Her goal put Owens on the board just under 15 minutes into the game.

Chelsea Charniga (Otsego/Bowling Green, Ohio), Kristina-Marie Rutherford (Norton/Norton, Ohio) and Haley Gasser (Northview/Sylvania, Ohio) each added one assist.

Shara Williams (Springfield/Holland, Ohio) started in goal for the Express.

Owens defeated Mercyhurst 10-1 at home in its first match of the season, so Saturday's victory completed a season sweep of the Express.

The next match for the Express (6-3) will be Wednesday in Livonia, Mich., against Schoolcraft College, who defeated Owens 5-0 on Sept. 14.
