Jackson, MI---The Owens Express women's soccer team exacted revenge on an early season 1-0 loss to Jackson Community College with a 1-0 win of their own over Jackson on the road Wednesday.

Kendra Eitniear (Swanton/Swanton, Ohio) put the Express on the board with 8:21 remaining in the first half. The Express got a scare when a shot by Jackson hit the crossbar with approximately 10 seconds remaining in the match, but Eitniear's goal ended up being all they needed.

Shara Williams (Springfield/Holland, Ohio) started in goal for the Express and saved seven shots. She posted her sixth shutout of the season.

Following the win, the Express must either win or tie one of their two remaining regular season games or have Cincinnati State lose or tie one of its remaining two games to clinch a spot in the Region XII tournament. The two teams are scheduled to face each other to close the regular season on Sunday at Owens beginning at 1 p.m. The Express defeated Cincinnati State 3-2 on Sept. 10.

Owens is now 11-6 overall and 4-4 in Region XII. The Express will have their first chance to clinch the tournament berth on Saturday against Delta College at 1 p.m. on the road.
