University Center, MI---The Owens Express women's soccer team got a big goal from Alyvia Lieber (Maumee/Maumee, Ohio) in the second half to tie the score, but Delta College scored a goal with two minutes left in double overtime to give Owens a 2-1 loss.

A win or a tie by Owens would have allowed them to clinch a Region XII tourney berth themselves. Thus needing help, the Express received it with a 6-0 win over Cincinnati State by Schoolcraft College. The No. 4 seed Express will now take on No. 1 seed Schoolcraft College next Saturday Oct. 29 at 12 p.m. in the Region XII tournament.

Shara Williams (Springfield/Holland, Ohio) started in net for the Express and saved six shots.

Owens will take on Cincinnati State tomorrow beginning at 12 p.m. at Lake High School. The match is their final regular season game.

The Express are now 11-7 (4-5 Region XII).
