2012: Brinkman started 17 games in goal for the Express as a freshman, while seeing action in 18. She made 73 saves while allowing only 11 goals. As a team, she was a big part of 10 shutouts produced by the Express defense.

Prior to Owens: Brinkman was named Honorable Mention All-Putnam County League (PCL) her senior year. She led Kalida to the district championship game, where they lost a 1-0 (2 OT) heartbreaker to Lima Central Catholic, and she only allowed two goals in three games during the district tournament. She played for coach David Kehris.

Personal: Erika is the daughter of Ryan and Amy Brinkman. She has three siblings - Amanda, Becca and Bryce.
