Muskegon, MI---Kendra Eitniear put the Express on the board just two minutes into the game, and then she added one more in the 82nd minute as the Express women's soccer team shut out Muskegon Community College 2-0 on the road Saturday.

"There was 25 minutes in the second half where I was scared," said Express head coach Mary Whisler. "Other than that, we played well. A win is a win."

The first goal was unassisted, while Jaime Sesock assisted on the second one. With her two goals, Eitniear ties Sarah Weaver and Drew Plummer for the team lead in goals at three.

It was Sesock's second assist of the season, which puts her second on the team in that category, and it was the sixth of her career.

The game was played at Orchard View High School. It was the first ever matchup between the two teams.

With the victory, the Express maintained their stranglehold on first place in the Region XII standings as they improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in Region XII.

Next up for Owens is a big matchup against the defending Region XII champion, Delta College, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in University Center, MI. The Pioneers are currently 3-1 in the region, so the matchup will be for first place.
