Toledo, OH---Lacee Ortman, a senior at Southview High School in Sylvania, OH, has become the fifth member of the 2013-14 Express women's soccer freshmen class after signing a letter of intent at Owens Community College late last week.

"After I tore my ACL, I didn't think I would have this opportunity, and Mary was so kind to grant me this opportunity to play college soccer," Ortman said. "I'm so thankful that it's at Owens and it's close to home. I've been playing defense since I was five years old and I hope to better the Express defense next year."

The defender, who was coached at Southview by Amy Knepper, was a four-year varsity award winner with the Cougars.

Lacee joins other members of the 2013-14 class, including Brittany Powell (Onsted HS/Onsted, MI), Kendyl Christian (Clay HS/Oregon, OH), Abby Groll (Clay HS/Oregon, OH) and Megan Soncrant (Clay HS/Oregon, OH)
