Late First Half Goal Dooms Express Women's Soccer Team in 3-2 Loss to Jackson College

Jackson, MI---A late first half goal proved to be the difference as the Express women's soccer team lost 3-2 to Jackson College on the road today.

Jessica Grindle opened the game's scoring with a goal in the 23rd minute to put the Express up 1-0. Two minutes later, Jackson tied the game up. 

Then, with 20 seconds left in the half, Jackson took a 2-1 lead with their second goal. 

In the second half, Jackson stretched the lead to 3-1 with 16:13 left before Kendyl Christian got her first collegiate goal with 1:55 remaining for the Express.

Erika Brinkman started in goal for the Express.

Notes

The Express (2-1) will host Schoolcraft College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Christian's goal came in her first collegiate game. She had missed the season's first two games.

Grindle's goal was her second of the season and the eighth of her career.

The Express were without the services of starting midfielder Haley Gasser today.
