Christian's Goal Too Little, Too Late in 3-1 Loss To Schoolcraft

Toledo, OH---Kendyl Christian's late goal wasn't enough as the Express women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 home decision to Schoolcraft College today.

The lone goal for the Express came at the 73:21 mark when Tara Preble made a strong move against a defender to retain possession on the right sideline and made a cross to Christian, who scored her second goal in the past two games.

Schoolcraft, however, had previously scored at the 14:54, 56:43 and 64:05 marks. 

Kelly McKay scored the first and third goals for the Ocelots, while Jessica Perry scored the second one, which ended up being the game winner. Erin McKay had the lone assist for Schoolcraft, on Perry's goal.

Erika Brinkman started and played the entire game in goal for the Express. She made three saves. Tara Gessler started in goal for the Ocelots. She made four saves in 81 minutes, while Alexis Smith played the final nine minutes.

Notes

With the loss, the Express drop to 2-2 overall this year and 2-2 in Region XII, while Schoolcraft improves to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in Region XII.

The Express are off until Sunday when they will host Mercyhurst North East Community College at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on local TV station BCSN.

Christan, who was playing in only her second game of the year, produced her second tally of the season. Preble's assist is the first point of her career.
