No. 8 Owens Women Suffer 4-0 Setback Against No. 18 Monroe C.C.

Rochester, N.Y.---No. 18 Monroe Community College held the No. 8 Owens Community College women's soccer team to just one shot attempt in a 4-0 win today.

That lone shot came from Kendyl Christian (Clay/Oregon, Ohio), while Monroe scored two goals in each half. Ashley Williams scored just 1:39 into the match before Brie Heitz made it 2-0 10:57 into the match.

In the second half, Monroe got a second goal from Williams at the 52:59 mark and their final goal came from Maddie Ferris at the 55:40 mark. Madison Siclare added two assists, while Ferris and Jordyn Ruston each had one assist apiece.

Chelsie Randolph (Start/Toledo, Ohio) started and went the distance in goal for Owens. She faced 10 shots on goal and made six saves. Karley Renehan started for Monroe and got the victory. She played the first 75 minutes before being relieved by Meghan Hake the rest of the way.

Overall, Owens was out-shot 25-1, while Monroe also held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Next Up

Owens (0-1-1) will look to bounce back next weekend as they host back-to-back Region XII games at home. On Sept. 6, they will play Lake Michigan College at 3 p.m. The next day, Muskegon Community College comes to town for a 3 p.m. matchup.
