Toledo, Ohio---The right foot of Kendyl Christian (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) led the Owens Community College women's soccer past Delta College 2-1 in today's Region XII tournament semifinal.

With the win, Owens advances to its second straight Region XII championship game, and they will look to defend their title at 12 p.m. against Schoolcraft College tomorrow.

In today's game, though, Christian put Owens ahead in the 23rd minute off an assist from Jordyn Wright (Riverdale/Forest, Ohio). Owens took that lead into halftime.

With 20 minutes remaining in regulation, Delta's Jessica Hegenauer scored unassisted to tie the game up. However, Christian gave Owens the win as she collected a ball that bounced around in front of Delta's goal and put it in the net in the game's 81st minute.

Christian is now second on the team in goals scored this year with eight. She has 18 goals and five assists over her two-year career. Wright produced her team-high 10th assist, as well.

Chelsie Randolph (Start/Toledo, Ohio) went the distance in goal for Owens. She made six saves.

Owens is now 12-4-2 overall heading into tomorrow's championship game. They defeated Cincinnati State in the same game last year.

Notes

Today's game served as a rubber match after the two teams split their season series.

Owens is 0-1-1 against Schoolcraft this year. They lost 2-0 to Schoolcraft on the road Sept. 27 before battling to a 1-1 draw at home on Oct. 19.

The tournament is being hosted by Delta College.
