Toledo, Ohio---Anthony Wayne product Kelsey Combs has signed a letter of intent to play for the Owens Community College women's soccer program.

The next two years will mark the third and fourth straight year a Combs family member has played soccer at Owens. Her brother, Austin, is an outgoing sophomore on the men's soccer team.

Kelsey, who was a team captain while playing every position except goalkeeper at AWHS, was coached by Lori Williams. She joins Kaleigh Strausbaugh (Bowling Green) and Lynzee Richardson (Napoleon) as one of three members so far in next year's freshmen class.

The Owens women's soccer team finished 14-5-2 this past fall under the guidance of first-year head coach Kenny Hewitt, who led the team to its second straight appearance at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I national tournament. The team also captured its second straight Region XII tournament championship.
