Toledo, Ohio---Megan Soncrant, a sophomore on the Owens Community College women's soccer team, has signed with Lourdes University to continue her athletic and academic careers.

Soncrant will joins a Lourdes program entering its inaugural season under the direction of Jackie Donovan.

"Megan will be a solid anchor to our backline," Donovan said via LourdesAthletics.com.  "Having two very successful championship runs at Owens, she brings a tenacity and fire to win. Those are qualities that will be vital to our success."

A graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio, Soncrant guided the Express to a pair of Region XII tournament championships and back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Tournament appearances.
Soncrant was primarily a midfielder/defender during her time at Owens, but she also saw time as a backup goalkeeper. As a freshman, she posted a 2-0 record in goal and did not surrender a goal.

Prior to Owens, Soncrant helped lead the Clay Eagles to a pair of Three Rivers Athletic Conference titles.  She earned Honorable Mention All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) accolades in 2012 and was also the recipient of the team's Coach's Award.
