Toledo, Ohio---Dayna Kingshott, a striker from Holbeach, United Kingdom, has signed with the Owens Community College women's soccer program.
In doing so, Kingshott becomes the first international player in the women's soccer program at Owens, which is entering its fifth year this upcoming fall. Second-year head coach Kenny Hewitt will announce several more international signings in the near future, as well.
Kingshott, who is from The College of West Anglia in King's Lynn, United Kingdom, helped her team reach the national 7-on-7 finals and the Southern England team trials.
Kingshott joins Kathryn Spalding (Central Catholic/Toledo, Ohio), Jenna Kidd (Clay/Oregon, Ohio), Lynzee Richardson (Napoleon/Napoleon, Ohio), Kelsey Combs (Anthony Wayne/Waterville, Ohio), Catie Phalen (Lake/Millbury, Ohio) and Kaleigh Strausbaugh (Bowling Green/Bowling Green, Ohio) as part of next year's recruiting class.
The Owens women's soccer program finished 14-5-2 overall last year en route to capturing its second straight Region XII tournament championship. Led by first-year head coach Kenny Hewitt, Owens advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Tournament.
