Owens Peppers Jackson With 22 Shots On Goal In 7-1 Win, No. 8 Monroe College Up Next

Toledo, Ohio---Jermima Job (Lincoln College/Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom) and Jordyn Wright (Riverdale/Forest, Ohio) each had two goals as the Owens Community College women's soccer team took down Jackson College 7-1 at home today.

Wright scored the game's first two goals, with the first one being assisted by Job, over the first 12:23.

Jackson's Sydney Toth, who had all five of Jackson's shots on goal, answered with a goal at the 23:47 mark to trim her team's lead in half.

Job, however, scored two of the team's final three goals in the half. The other goal came from Sarah Wamer (Cardinal Stritch/Walbridge, Ohio) as Owens led 5-1 at halftime.

In the second half, Mackenzie Oberle (Whitmer/Toledo, Ohio) and Jessica Kreger (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.) scored in the 66th and 82nd minutes to provide the final margin.

Wright assisted on both of Job's goals, while Job also assisted on Wamer's goal. Oberle assisted on Kreger's goal.

For Owens, Job produced nine shots total with six going on goal. Both were team-highs. Oberle produced six shots with four on goal, while Wright totaled five shots with four on goal.

As a team, Owens had 33 total shots with 22 going on goal. Jackson had six total shots with five going on goal (all from Toth).

Chelsie Randolph (Start/Toledo, Ohio) made four saves in goal for Owens, including a great save late in the game in a one on one situation with Toth.

Owens is now 7-7 overall and 7-5 in Region XII play. They will be back in action Sunday at 3 p.m. against No. 5 Monroe College (7-1) at home. They have given up only four goals all year and their only loss was to No. 4 Monroe Community College, who defeated Owens 3-0 in late August.

Jackson falls to 4-10 overall and 3-9 in Region XII play.

Notes

With her two goals and two assists today, Wright now has nine goals and seven assists this year. She has 16 goals and 17 assists in her career, as well.

Job, meanwhile, produced her sixth multi-goal game of the year today. She now has a team-high 18 goals to go along with five assists.

Wamer and Oberle each added their second goals of the season, while Kreger's goal was her first of the season and the seventh of her career. Oberle's assist was her first of the season.
