Toledo, Ohio---The Owens Community College women's soccer team got a pair of second half goals to post a 2-0 victory over Cincinnati State Technical and Community College at home today.

Jordyn Wright (Riverdale/Forest, Ohio) and Dayna Kingshott (The College of West Anglia/King's Lynn, United Kingdom) each scored a goal within a six minute span in the second half beginning with Wright's goal at the 51:22 mark.

On the first goal, Kingshott passed it to Wright, who beat the keeper to the far right side of the net. On the second goal, Kingshott took a pass from Emily Ginley (Huddersfield New College/Halifax, United Kingdom) to provide an insurance goal.

Both goalkeepers played well in net. Cincinnati State's Kelsie Lee, who stopped a penalty kick attempt from Wright in the first half, finished with nine saves. Chelsie Randolph (Start/Toledo, Ohio) made 12 saves in goal for Owens to pick up fourth shutout of the season and 11th of her career.

Chelsea Evans led Cincinnati State with six shots (five on goal). Jermima Job (Lincoln College/Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom) led Owens with six total shots, while her and Wright each had a team-high four shots on goal.

With the win, Owens evened out its record at 8-8 overall, while Cincinnati State fell to 10-5. Furthermore, Owens clinched a Region XII tournament berth with the win. They currently have the No. 4 seed, but can jump to No. 3 with a win over Muskegon Community College on Saturday.

Notes

Kingshott, who had missed four of the past five games, picked up her sixth goal and first assist of the season. Ginley, who missed the past two games, returned to pick up her second assist of the year. Wright, meanwhile, now has 10 goals and seven assists this year. She posted the exact opposite numbers last year and has 17 goals and 17 assists in her career.

If Owens loses to Muskegon Saturday, they would take on No. 1 seed Schoolcraft College to open Region XII tournament play. If they beat Muskegon, their No. 3 seed would have them open against No. 2 seed Cincinnati State.

Randolph is now seven saves away from breaking the single season saves record, which she set at 103 last year. Should she reach that mark, she would then hold the single game, single season and career saves records for Owens.

Wright is sixth all-time in career goals, tied for second in career assists and fifth in career points.
