Cincinnati State Knocks Off Owens Women's Soccer 2-0 In Region XII Semifinals

Cincinnati, Ohio---Two first half goals held up as the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College women's soccer team defeated Owens Community College 2-0 in the Region XII semifinals this afternoon.

Elizabeth Stepaniak scored in the 15th minute before Jami Pfeifer provided a little insurance with a goal in the 32nd minute to help their team knock off the two-time defending Region XII champion.

Chelsie Randolph (Start/Toledo, Ohio) made four saves in goal for Owens, while Kelsey Lee had three saves for Cincinnati State.

Four players had two total shots for Owens, while Jermima Job (Lincoln College/Nottinghamshire, U.K.) led the team with two shots on goal.

With the win, Cincinnati State (12-5) advances to the Region XII championship game to face Schoolcraft College at 12 p.m. tomorrow. Meanwhile, Owens finishes the season at 9-10 overall.

The tournament is being held at the Wyoming Rec Center in Cincinnati.
