Owens Trio Earns Region XII Women's Soccer Honors

Toledo, Ohio---The Owens Community College women's soccer team saw its season end in the Region XII semifinals this past weekend, but they got some good news early this week as three players were named to the All-Region XII team.

Jermima Job (Lincoln College/Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom), a freshman midfielder, led the team with 18 goals and five assists, which earned her First Team All-Region XII honors. She finished 19th in the nation and fourth in the region in goals scored. Her goal total puts her fourth on the program's single season list. She started all 19 games this year for Owens.

Jordyn Wright (Riverdale/Forest, Ohio), a sophomore forward, was named Second Team All-Region XII. She had 12 goals and eight assists in her final year with Owens. She finished her two-year career with 19 goals and 18 assists, which puts her tied for fourth in career points, fifth in career goals and second in career assists. She started all 19 games for Owens this year.

Talia Swartbooi (Edenglen/Johannesburg, South Africa), a sophomore midfielder, was also named Second Team All-Region XII. She had two goals and two assists on the season. She played in 16 games, while making 14 starts.

Owens finished the 2015 season 9-10 overall and advanced to the Region XII semifinals before falling to Cincinnati State.
