Alaine Emens came to Owens Community College from Findlay High School, where she was the head volleyball coach in 1992 and 1993. Emens also was the former assistant coach at Bowling Green State University from 1988-91. She was a graduate assistant at the University of Toledo, where she helped coach volleyball. Emens also toured overseas with Athletes in Action (AIA), a traveling volleyball club. She played intercollegiate volleyball from 1985-88 at Bowling Green State University, graduating in 1988. Emens lives in Findlay, OH and teaches health at the middle school.
