Owens Career: In 2001, she was selected as the team's Most Improved Player.  Young played in 134 games and led the team with 998 assists, ranking second among Owens All-Time Assist Leaders.  She also recorded 289 digs, 55 blocks and 28 aces.

High School: 2001 Start High School graduate, Toledo, Ohio, where she was First Team and Honorable Mention All-City, Second Team All-District and All-Blade.  An Archie Griffin Award winner, she also received Second Team All-City honors in softball and was a 2001 recipient of a $2,000 Trustees' Academic Excellence scholarship at Owens.
