Prior to Owens: Crowell comes to Owens as a decorated two-sport (softball) athlete at Parkway HS. As a member of the volleyball team under head coach Jeff Marbaugh, she earned First Team All-MAC, District 8 Player of the Year, and First Team All-Ohio honors. Team honors included being the ace leader, dig leader and serve reception percentage leader. As a junior, she was First Team All-MAC and was named to the District 8 All Star Team. Team honors included being the kill leader and having the best serve reception percentage. As a sophomore, she was named Second Team All-MAC and Honorable Mention All-Ohio. As a member of the softball team, she was named First Team All-MAC, First Team All-District, MAC Player of the Year, and Second Team All-Ohio her senior year, First Team All-MAC, First Team All-District, team MVP, and Honorable Mention All-Ohio her junior year, First Team All-MAC, Second Team All-District and team MVP her sophomore year, and First Team All-MAC and team MVP her freshman year. As a sophomore and senior, she won the team's best offense award. Additionally, she won four year varsity awards in both sports. Her greatest personal sports thrill was making it to the state final four in volleyball her senior year. Academically, she was an honor roll student.

Personal: Emily is the daughter of Steve and Lisa Crowell. She is an early childhood education major at Owens.
