2012 stats

2012: Meis became the first player in program history to record at least 500 kills and 500 digs in the same season. She was named Region XII District E Tournament MVP, and she made the All-Tournament team at the Raider Challenge on Sept. 30.

Overall, Meis finished her sophomore campaign with 613 kills, 573 digs, 56 assisted blocks, 43 aces, 19 solo blocks and seven assists. She finished her career with 776 kills, 646 digs, 92 assisted blocks, 49 aces, 32 solo blocks and 13 assists.

In 12 OCCAC matches, Meis had 137 kills, 14 aces, 136 digs, four solo blocks and 11 assisted blocks. In four NJCAA D-II National Tournament matches, she had 53 kills, 60 digs, seven assisted blocks, three solo blocks and one ace.

Meis, who was the team's most versatile player as a sophomore, vastly improved from her freshman year and ended her career with the sixth most career kills and the second most in a single season behind her teammate, Dakia Sellers.

2011: Meis had 163 kills, six assists, 73 digs, 13 solo blocks and 36 assisted blocks as a freshman.

Prior to Owens: Meis was a member of the basketball and volleyball teams at Genoa. As a member of the volleyball team under head coach Amanda Cichocki, she earned First Team All-SLL honors her junior and senior years, while earning Second Team All-SLL honors her sophomore year. She also broke the school's single season kills record her senior year. As a member of the basketball team, she earned First Team Alan Miller Jewelers All-Press, Second Team All-District 7, Honorable Mention All-Ohio and Second Team All-SLL honors her senior year, and Second Team All-SLL and Second Team All-District 7 honors her junior year. Academically, she earned High Honor Roll recognition her junior and senior years. Her greatest personal sports thrill are the volleyball games against Eastwood her senior year.

Personal: Alyssa is the daughter of Dan and Sue Meis. She has one brother, Andrew, and she is an exercise science major at Owens.
