2012 stats

2012: Sellers had a monster first year en route to becoming the first freshmen in program history to earn NJCAA D-II First Team All-American honors.

In 12 OCCAC matches, Sellers had 157 kills, 26 digs, eight solo blocks and 34 assisted blocks, which led her to being named First Team All-OCCAC. She was also named First Team All-Region XII, and she was a member of the Region XII District E all-tournament team. Sellers was also named OCCAC Player of the Week on Oct. 28.

Overall, Sellers broke the program's single season kills record with 618. She added eight assists, eight aces, 122 digs, 34 solo blocks, 124 assisted blocks and 158 total blocks.

In the NJCAA D-II National Tournament, Sellers recorded 67 kills over four matches (including a season-high 27 in the quarterfinals) en route to all-tournament honors.

Earlier in the season, she was named to the All-Tournament teams in the Raider Challenge on Sept. 30 and the Vincennes Invitational on Oct. 6. 

Prior to Owens: Sellers was an All-Ohio Cardinal Conference and All-District player with Mansfield Madison. She also participated in a state all-star match.

Personal: Dakia is the daughter of Dwayne Sellers and Keisha Scott. She has one sibling - Jaylon.
