Toledo, OH---The No. 15 Express volleyball team swept all three opponents they played in the Owens Invitational on Saturday, and they didn't drop a game en route.

After a sweep of Schoolcraft College earlier in the day, the Express upset No. 8 and undefeated Johnson County Community College 25-19, 25-20, 25-19 before dispatching No. 20 Genesee Community College 25-11, 25-17, 25-8 in the nightcap.

Johnson County was 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the Owens Invitational. They had defeated No. 7 Parkland College in four sets, Columbus State Community College in five sets, No. 2 Oakland Community College in four sets, and Illinois Central College in three sets.

Thus, today's wins meant a lot for a team coming off a three set loss the night before to No. 12 Pasco-Hernando Community College.

"Our kids played much harder today," said Express volleyball head coach Sonny Lewis. "When we play hard, I think we'll be a good team. But sometimes, we'll play like freshmen."

The Express (8-2), who are 4-1 thus far in the Owens Invitational, have more work in store on Sunday as they will take on No. 3 Kishwaukee College at 11:45 a.m. and Illinois Central College at 1:30 p.m.
