Meis, No. 5 Express Dominate Cuyahoga, Win Fourth Straight Three Set Match

Toledo, OH---The No. 5 Express volleyball team cruised past Cuyahoga Community College in straight sets, 25-6, 25-1, 25-4 tonight in the SHAC.

It was the team's fourth consecutive three set win overall - all of which have come in OCCAC action.

Dakia Sellers led the Express with 13 kills, while Molly Hilfinger (12) led the team in assists, Bailey Windham (8) led in aces, Alyssa Meis (10) led in digs, Dominique Yates (2) led in solo blocks and Sellers (3) led in assisted blocks.

Overall, the Express had 18 service aces. In addition to Windham's eight aces, Lisa Urbanski had seven aces. Meis and Tiffani Hobbs each had six kills in addition to the 13 from Sellers.

With the win, Owens (14-3 overall) improved to 10-2 at home and 4-0 in the OCCAC. It was their fifth consecutive win overall.

Owens will next play on the road Friday night against OCCAC rival No. 12 Columbus State Community College. The matchup begins at 6 p.m. They return home for an 11 a.m. matchup against Edison Community College the following day.

Notes

Meis (195) and Sellers (190) are now the top two in the nation in kills at the NJCAA D-II level.

Urbanski (283) is second in the nation in digs. Also, with her three assisted blocks tonight, Sellers becomes the nation's leader with 58.

Jazmine Thomas (74) and Sellers are the top two in the nation in total blocks, while Sellers (228.5) and Meis (220.5) are the top two points leaders in the nation.

Hilfinger (347) is third in the nation in assists. Meanwhile, Urbanski's seven aces gives her the nation's top mark with 29.
