2014: Hemenway recorded 229 kills, 12 assists, 34 aces, 90 digs and 60 blocks (11 solo). She was fifth on the team in blocks, fourth in kills and fifth in aces. She recorded a season-high five aces in back-to-back matches on Aug. 29-30, and she had a season-high 11 kills Oct. 4 against Lorain County Community College.
Prior to Owens: Hemenway had 506 kills and 75 aces in her high school career, which included 192 kills and 43 aces during her senior year. In her final high school season, she was named First Team All-Northern Ohio League (NOL), First Team All-District 6 and was the team's MVP.
As a junior, Hemenway was Honorable Mention All-NOL and Honorable Mention All-District 6, while she earned Second Team All-NOL and was the team's most improved player as a sophomore. She was coached by Karen Irons.
Personal: Amara is the daughter of Shawn and Shana Hemenway. She has four brothers - Riley, Shane, Boman and Jayse.
