Reigelsperger Named OCCAC Player of the Week

Toledo, Ohio---Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio), a freshman middle blocker for Owens Community College's volleyball team, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) player of the week.

Reigelsperger totaled 61 kills with a .341 hitting percentage over five matches last week. In OCCAC play on Wednesday, she had nine kills, eight digs and two blocks in a straight set win over Edison.

"Since moving back to middle blocker, Macy has been the offensive leader of our team," said Owens head volleyball coach Sonny Lewis.

At the Grand Rapids Invitational over the weekend, Reigelsperger had 16 kills and six blocks in a win over Oakland and 15 kills and five blocks in a five set loss to Mott.

Overall, in addition to her 61 kills, Reigelsperger had 16 digs, 19 blocks and two assists last week.

This season, Reigelsperger has team-highs in kills (321) and blocks (87). She is also third on the team in digs with 195. In addition to those stats, Reigelsperger also has nine assists and 15 service aces.

Nationally, Reigelsperger is third in the nation in total kills and 14th in total blocks.

Owens is 19-6 overall this year. They will host Lorain County, Jackson and Lincoln Land this Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
