Toledo, Ohio---The No. 16 Owens Community College women's volleyball officially begins its quest for a berth in the national tournament on Friday as the Region XII District E volleyball tournament opens play at Owens Community College.

Owens is the host to the double elimination Region XII District E and District F tournaments. The winner of each will advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament Nov. 20-22 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Owens volleyball opens its tournament with a 4 p.m. matchup on Friday against St. Clair County Community College. Should they win, they would take on the winner of Schoolcraft College and Oakland Community College at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Should they lose, they would play the loser of Schoolcraft and Oakland at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Here's the brackets:

District F - here

The Owens women's volleyball team is currently 31-9 overall. They finished second in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) with a 12-2 record. They have swept their opening round opponent, St. Clair County, twice this year - on Sept. 6 and Sept. 27.

Their district tournament, however, will feature four top 20 teams - No. 6 Columbus State Community College (28-1), No. 14 Oakland Community College (24-7) and No. 15 Mott Community College (36-5) and Owens. Only one of those teams can advance to nationals. Columbus State and Mott, should they both advance, would play each other in the one semifinal, while Owens would play Oakland in the other semifinal.
