Toledo, Ohio--The No. 16 Owens Community College women's volleyball team had its season end with a 29-27, 25-23, 25-22 loss to No. 6 Columbus State Community College in the Region XII District E loser's bracket final today.
With Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) still out with an injury, Stephanie Kipp (Ida/Monroe, Mich.) once again stepped up, providing 11 kills and only two errors. Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) had a team-high 13 kills.
Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) had a monster match as she had six kills, 12 digs, 11 assists and two blocks.
Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) and Jessica Cooper (Brandywine/Niles, Mich.) had 16 and 15 assists, respectively. Ciarra Wirick (Benjamin Logan/West Liberty, Ohio) had a team-high 20 digs. Three players had two blocks.
Owens finishes its season at 34-11 overall.
Notes
Wirick and Hartings each made the all-tournament team. Wirick had three kills, 16 assists and 107 digs in the tournament's five matches, while Hartings had 76 kills, one assist, 13 digs and 10 blocks over five matches.
Postseason awards will be announced on Monday.
