Toledo, Ohio---Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) combined for 20 kills on the second day of the Owens Invitational as the No. 9 Owens Community College women's volleyball team swept Vincennes (IN) University and Hagerstown (MD) Community College.

The wins improve Owens to 6-2 overall and set up a showdown at 11:45 a.m. Sunday with No. 1 Parkland (IL) College. Following that, Owens will face Jackson College at 3:15 p.m. to close out its action in the weekend volleyball extravaganza.

Match 1: Owens d. Vincennes 25-13, 25-14, 25-10

This match was all Owens, except for early in the second set when Vincennes opened it by scoring the first five points. Gradually, though, Owens bounced back and took the set by double digits.

Reigelsperger was the lone player with double digit kills as she finished with 10, although Taylor Purcell (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.) was close with eight. Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) was next on the list with five. Those three combined for 23 of the team's 32 kills, while the team hit .278 overall.

Christine Tylutki (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) and Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) led the team in kills with 14 and 12, respectively. Tylutki also hurt Vincennes with a team-high four aces, and Hartings added three. The team had 12 total aces.

Defensively, Brooke Gyori (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) and Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) each led the team with 12 digs. Reigelsperger added five of her own, along with a team-high five blocks (one solo).

Abigail Hesselschwardt (Otsego/Grand Rapids, Ohio) finished second on the team in blocks with three.

Match 2: Owens d. Hagerstown 25-18, 25-15, 25-10

For the second straight match, Reigelsperger was the lone double figure kill producer with 10. Hartings (5) and Purcell (4) were next on the food chain.

Smith had a team-high 14 assists, and Tylutki added 7. Those two combined for 21 of the team's 24 assists. Gyori exploded for a season-high eight aces, and the team had 13 overall. Nobody else had more than one, though.

Mikesell led the team in digs with 11. It's the first time someone other than Gyori has led the team by themself in digs through eight matches this year.

Once again, Reigelsperger added five blocks (one solo). Tyanna Smith (Bowling Green/Bowling Green, Ohio) added three blocks.
