Gyori's 25 Digs Lead No. 7 @OwensExpress Volleyball Past Lakeland In Straight Sets

Kirtland, Ohio---Brooke Gyori (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) had 25 digs to lead the No. 7 Owens Community College women's volleyball team past Lakeland Community College 25-19, 25-14, 25-12 on the road today.

With the win, Owens improves to 13-3 overall and 6-0 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) play. They now take over sole possession of first place in the conference. Lakeland falls to 12-4 overall and 2-1 in OCCAC play. 

Assisting Gyori were Christine Tylutki (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) and Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) with five digs apiece.

Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) and Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) had nine and eight kills, respectively, to lead the team. Taylor Purcell (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.) added seven.

Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) and Tylutki had 15 and 14 assists, respectively.

Reigelsperger, Tylutki and Gyori had two aces apiece, while Tyanna Smith (Bowling Green/Bowling Green, Ohio) and Reigelsperger led the team with four blocks each. Mikesell added three.

Owens will be back in action this weekend in the Parkland (IL) Invitational. They will take on No. 8 Des Moines Area CC, No. 11 Kirkwood CC, No. 3 Johnson County CC and Iowa Central CC.
