Reigelsperger, Tylutki Lead @OwensExpress Volleyball To Final Day Split In Parkland Invitational

Champaign, Ill.---Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) and Christine Tylutki (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) each had great days as the No. 7 Owens Community College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on the final day of the Parkland Invitational today.

Match 1: No. 3 Johnson County d. No. 7 Owens 25-19, 25-16, 23-25, 25-17

Reigelsperger led the team with 16 kills on a .387 hitting percentage, while Tylutki had seven blocks (three solo) in a losing effort.

Tylutki had a solid all-around match as the freshman also totaled three kills, 11 assists and 13 digs. Reigelsperger chipped in five digs and six blocks.

Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) added 12 kills as her and Reigelsperger had 28 of the team's 39 kills. Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) led the team with 22 assists.

Tylutki produced the team's lone service ace. Brooke Gyori (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) had a team-high 20 digs, while Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) chipped in 13 to tie Tylutki for second on the team.

Aside from Reigelsperger and Tylutki totaling 13 blocks, Owens got four apiece from Abby Hesselschwardt (Otsego/Grand Rapids, Ohio) and Mikesell.

Match 2: No. 7 Owens d. Iowa Central 25-21, 20-25, 25-12, 25-17

Owens finished the day strong as Reigelsperger (15) and Hartings (13) combined for 28 of the team's 45 kills.

Smith (26) and Tylutki (14) led the way in assists. Gyori (3) and Samantha Reer (St. Paul/Norwalk, Ohio) had five of the team's seven aces.

Seven players recorded at least five digs for Owens, led by Gyori (23), Tylutki (16) and Mikesell (10). Smith and Reigelsperger each had six, while Reer and Hartings each had five.

Tylutki had seven blocks (two solo) once again, while Reigelsperger and Hesselschwardt each had three (one solo).

Notes

Owens is now 15-5 overall this year. They travel to Lorain County Community College on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. conference match. Next weekend, they will play more tough competition in the Grand Rapids Community College Raider Invitational.
