Springfield, Ohio---Miranda Johnson (Whiteford/Ottawa Lake, Mich.) totaled a season-high 21 digs as the No. 6 Owens Community College women's volleyball team rolled over Clark State Community College 25-11, 25-12, 25-16 on the road tonight.

The win improves a season-best winning streak to eight for Owens, which improved to 22-5 overall. They will be back in action next Wednesday at home beginning at 5 p.m. against Cuyahoga Community College.

Despite playing just three quick sets, several players stood out for Owens statistically. Aside from Johnson's season-best match, Brooke Gyori (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) added 11 digs, while Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) had nine and Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) had seven.

The duo of Reigelsperger and Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) combined for 27 digs. Reigelsperger, who pounded Clark State with seven kills in the first set, finished with a team-high 15. Both players hit .500 apiece in the match.

Tyanna Smith (Bowling Green/Bowling Green, Ohio) was third on the team with five kills, while Taylor Purcell (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.) had four kills and a .500 hitting percentage.

Christine Tylutki (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) had 37 of the team's 43 assists, while Gyori added four.

At the net, Abigail Hesselschwardt (Otsego/Grand Rapids, Ohio) had a team-high four blocks (one solo) in two sets of work, while three others pitched in three, including Smith, Tylutki and Annie Lindeman (Ottoville/Ottoville, Ohio). Tylutki and Lindeman each had one solo block among their three total.

As a team, Owens had 45 kills with a .385 hitting percentage, while also totaling 64 digs and 17 blocks (four solo). They hit .419, .370 and .364 in the three sets, respectively.

Notes

Tonight was a non-conference match for Owens, but Columbus State's win over Lakeland now gives Owens at least a two-game lead over everyone else in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC).

One match after her former Coldwater High School teammate, Hartings, eclipsed 800 career kills, Reigelsperger followed suit by eclipsing the same mark. She now has 808 after averaging 17.5 kills over two matches this week.

Johnson, who came into the match with 50 digs on the season, averaged 16.5 digs per match this week. 

Gyori inched closer to 500 digs in her freshmen campaign and now sits at 481.

Tylutki eclipsed the 500 assist mark with her match tonight. The freshman now has 508 assists, 208 digs, 54 blocks, 35 kills and 21 aces this year.

Mikesell is one dig away from 600 in her career. The sophomore has 370 kills, 34 assists, 61 aces and 160 blocks along with her 599 digs.

Purcell is now averaging 2.18 kills per set in her sophomore year after averaging 1.16 per set as a freshman. She is also six blocks away from 100 in her career.
