Cincinnati, Ohio---Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) reached 1,000 career kills while leading the No. 9 Owens Community College women's volleyball team to a 25-15, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22 win over Cincinnati State Technical and Community College on the road tonight.

With the win, Owens closes the regular season at 34-6 overall and completes a perfect 14-0 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) season. It is the ninth perfect conference season in program history and the first since 2012. Head coach Sonny Lewis, who is in his 14th season at Owens, has all but one of those undefeated seasons.

Reigelsperger led Owens with 13 kills to reach an even 500 this year. She also had 500 last year, and she joins Stephanie Champine and Brittany Egbert as one of only three players in program history to reach at least 1,000 kills in her career.

Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) added 11 kills as she aims to join her former high school teammate in the 1,000 kills club. The sophomore has 946 after tonight.

Ashley Pleiman (Fort Loramie/Fort Loramie, Ohio) was the third player to reach double figures in kills tonight with 10. Taylor Purcell (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.) was fourth on the team with six.

Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) and Christine Tylutki (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) led the team in assists with 28 and 17, respectively.

Brooke Gyori (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) had team-highs in aces (5) and digs (30). Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) added 15 digs. Smith (7) and Samantha Reer (St. Paul/Norwalk, Ohio) (6) also chipped in.

Hartings had a team-high six blocks (four solo), and Pleiman added five.

Due to the their first place finish in the conference, Owens will receive the No. 1 seed in next weekend's Region XII District F tournament. They will get a bye in the first round and meet the winner of the match between the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds. The 3-6 seeds aren't finalized yet, although Cincinnati State will be the No. 2 seed. All tournament games will be held at Owens in the Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC). Stay tuned to OwensExpress.com and our social media outlets for updated information as it comes in.
