2016: As a freshman, Heitkamp produced 287 kills, three assists, 10 aces, 53 digs and 154 blocks (15 solo) over 46 matches. She had a .260 hitting percentage on 592 attempts. On top of that, she finished fourth on the team in kills, as well as third in solo blocks and second in total blocks.

Heitkamp twice had a season-high 13 kills - on Oct. 19 against Lakeland and Sept. 4 against Monroe College. She had a season-high 12 blocks (three solo) against Lorain County on Oct. 26.

Academically, Heitkamp was a member of the OCCAC's All-Academic team in the fall and spring semesters as a freshman, which helped allow her to be named a First Team All-Academic team selection by the NJCAA.

Prior to Owens: Heitkamp was a four-year varsity letter winner at New Bremen, where she was named First Team All-Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC), First Team All-District 8 and Second Team All-Ohio as a senior. During that final high school season, she produced 32 aces, 269 kills, 61 blocks and 266 digs. She led New Bremen to a 16-9 record and an appearance in the Division IV regional finals.

In her four-year career, Heitkamp produced 705 kills, 487 digs, 206 blocks, 67 aces and 44 assists. She earned the following honors during that time: Third Team All-Ohio (junior year), OHSVCA All-Star Match Participant (senior year), First Team All-MAC (junior year), Second Team All-MAC (sophomore year), First Team All-District 8 (junior year), District 8 Senior All-Star game participant, Ohio High School Coaches Association Elite Camp participant (sophomore through senior year), NKTelco and Tri-Star Impact Player of the Game.

In addition to those awards, she was a three-time All-MAC Scholar Athlete, a four-year honor roll student and an AAU volleyball Academic All-American selection. She also participated on the swim and track teams at New Bremen, where she was a regional qualifier in discus her junior year and a district qualifier in swimming her sophomore and junior years.
