Toledo, Ohio---Sophomore middle blocker Devon Heitkamp (New Bremen/New Bremen, Ohio) totaled 41 kills, while Niki Polce (Huron/New Boston, Mich.) compiled 43 digs as the No. 3 Owens Community College women's volleyball team swept No. 14 Schoolcraft College, No. 19 Muskegon Community College, St. Clair County Community College and Waubonsee Community College over the past two days to close out the Owens Invitational.

With the victories, Owens is now 11-0 this year. Digging deeper, the team has also won all 33 sets played. It is the longest such streak to open a season in program history, and it marks the most consecutive three set victories over any point.

Owens will be back in action on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Lakeland Community College. The match will not be streamed live, but it will be uploaded to our YouTube page later this week.

Match 8: No. 3 Owens d. Waubonsee 25-16, 25-13, 25-22

The offensive attack of Heitkamp, Erika Angstmann (St. Marys/St. Marys, Ohio) and Michaela Eisenhauer (Margaretta/Castalia, Ohio) produced nine kills apiece as Owens picked up its eighth win of the season. Angstmann hit .471, while Eisenhauer hit .368. Jordan Alt (Ottawa-Glandorf/Ottawa, Ohio) added five kills, and Olivia Hermiller (Ottawa-Glandorf/Ottawa, Ohio) added four kills with a .571 hitting percentage.

Brynn DuVall (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.), who played just one set, recorded eight digs to mark the first time this season that Polce hadn't either tied or held the team match-high in that category. Polce, Madison Lammers (New Knoxville/New Knoxville, Ohio) and Carrigan Gray (Liberty-Benton/Findlay, Ohio) each added seven digs, while the team had 44 overall.

Alt, Heitkamp and Eisenhauer each added two block assists, while Summer Sweeting (South Central/North Fairfield, Ohio) produced a team-high 18 assists. It was the third time she has led the team in that category this season. Gray, who has led the team in the other eight matches, contributed 14 assists.

Angstmann added a team-high three aces.

Match 9: No. 3 Owens d. St. Clair County 25-10, 25-13, 25-16

Heitkamp buried a team-high 12 kills at a .450 clip to lead Owens to its second victory on Saturday. She paced a team attack that included 46 kills and a .434 hitting percentage. Angstmann chipped in eight kills (.538), Alt had seven (.357), Hermiller added six (.556) and Eisenhauer produced six (.500). 

Gray had 20 of the team's 39 assists, while Sweeting was just behind her with 19. Polce and Angstmann (7) each tied for the team-high in digs. It was the first time this season that Angstmann has at least tied for the team-high in that category. Polce has led the team outright in eight matches, while Cassidy Wlodarz (Cardinal Stritch/Oregon, Ohio) tied Polce in the third match of the season, and Duvall led the way against Waubonsee.

Angstmann had two of the team's four aces. Gray and Ally Angstmann (St. Marys/St. Marys, Ohio) had the other two. Heitkamp had the team's lone solo block, while she also tied Eisenhauer for the team-high in block assists with three. 

Match 10: No. 3 Owens d. No. 19 Muskegon 25-21, 25-17-25-21

Owens, who won in straight sets despite hitting a season-low .220 as a team, picked up its third win over a ranked opponent in Sunday's opening match behind a season-high 20 digs from Polce, who helped Owens counter Muskegon's Robbie Berg, who had 14 kills but hit just .238.

In addition to Polce's defense, Gray (21) and Sweeting (15) had all 36 of the team's assists. Gray (9) and Wlodarz (8) each also helped out in digs, while Gray had a team-high two aces.

Heitkamp and Erika Angstmann each had two block assists, and Lammers recorded the lone solo block. Heitkamp led the team in kills for fifth time this season as the recorded eight. Erika Angstmann and Eisenhauer each chipped in seven, and Alt had six.

Owens had a season-high 100 attacks and 52 digs in this match.

Match 11: No. 3 Owens d. No. 14 Schoolcraft 25-5, 25-16, 25-14

For the second time over the weekend, Heitkamp produced a season-high 12 kills to help Owens improve to 4-0 against ranked teams this year. This time, she hit .556, which was her third highest percentage of the season behind a .750 performance against Kalamazoo Valley on Sept. 1 and a .643 performance against No. 11 Des Moines Area on Aug. 25.

Assisting Heitkamp was Hermiller, who recorded a new season-highs in kills (8) and hitting percentage (.615, minimum 10 attempts). Alt and Kennedy Ames (Milan Edison/Norwalk, Ohio) each added seven kills, and Ames did her damage over two sets.

Gray led the team with a season-high 22 assists. It was the third straight match for her with at least 20 and the sixth overall this year. Sweeting added 17 digs and two aces, while Ames and Wlodarz each had two assists, as well.

Polce had a team-high nine digs, while DuVall and Wlodarz each had five. Alt recorded the team's two solo blocks, and she added two block assists, which tied Ally Angstmann for second on the team behind Heitkamp's three block assists.

Overall, Owens hit .474 as a team. It was the fifth time this year the team has hit at least .400, and it was third highest single match percentage of the season behind a .493 percentage against Jackson on Sept. 1 and a .479 mark against No. 11 Des Moines Area on Aug. 25.
